With Christmas 16 sleeps away, I thought I would do a post on how to make a stocking. I made a mini stocking to decorate my room with, but it can also be used to wrap presents, to make them more personal and handmade. When I thought of making this I didn't have and christmas-y fabric, and so I decided to use some of the fabric I've had sitting around since I first started sewing.
So above is the amount of fabric you will need and x is how far down you want fabric a to go.
So once you have the fabric cut out sew down the straight side of the two fabric b pieces.
Next get fabric b and fold it over with 1cm on the inside so that none of the fraying edge is on show. Also check that fabric a comes down far enough on both sides of the stocking that you could sew it all down. The fabric should look like this:
Last of all, fold over the stocking so that it is inside out and sew around the edge.
Freya xx
